Some more pictures from my Hand Made In London project, this time from the studio of Carre Ducker – cobblers and shoe makers. After meeting at master bootmakers, Lobb, and competing an apprenticeship there, Deborah Carre and James Ducker set up in partnership to make traditional shoes with a contemporary twist.
It takes more the 40 hours of skilled work to make a pair of shoes and the pair make everything from scratch, even waxing and twisting the twine that sews the shoes together.
